Baby stuff, don't buy into the marketing!
As my wife and I get ready for our newest little addition to the family, we've had the opportunity to spend thousands of dollars on crap we really don't need. Apparently, babies can't even see color for 5 months after they're born, so why do companies sell this shiny, colorful stuff? One reason; It's cute.
My wife and I live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment that doesn't have a lot of room so we're trying to fit all of OUR stuff as well as furnish a nursery (our 2nd bedroom). I've had to put my computer in the living room along with our 3 seater couch, loveseat, coffee table, kitchen table, and 42" plasma TV. It's madness!
I don't even know why i'm writing this blog, but I figured some of you will have children some day. Let me tell you, babies only eat, poop, cry and sleep. Don't waste your time and money buying all this "cute" crap. As long as he/she has warm clothing, a comfy crib, diapers, and a breast full of milk, they're in business.
We're 1 month and 3 days out from our due date. Little Racerover will be here soon!

In your defense, I can see where you're coming from.
And if our baby shower we held over christmas break is any indication on how this baby will be treated by my parents and my in-laws. This will be one spoiled baby. We asked everyone just to bring giftcards, since with Christmas we didn't have much room to pack everything in our suitcases. Sure enough, everyone bought lots of presents. The baby is still two months away, and she's already got more toys than me. /jealous.
Anyways, I'm essentially saying, I know what you mean. It's going to be a while before the baby wants to play with any of these toys. Someone actually even bought her a book. Definitely a childrens book, but it's like 50 pages long... By the time she needs that, I'll have lost it. -.-
Race, driving through Arizona in a couple weeks, imma stalk you. :P
All babies need are mama boobs and a snug swaddle. We never even did a nursery (and we have 2000 sq ft and four bedrooms).
